Blue Mountains Botanic Garden
Free entry makes the Blue Mountains Botanic Gardens a tip-top choice that is family and budget friendly. Enjoy the fresh mountain air as you wander the 252-hectare gardens, home to more than 12,000 plant species and trees. The oldest botanic gardens in Australia are popular for their workshops, the eclectic variety of flora as well as the incredible panoramic mountain views. Three Sisters
Make your way to Katoomba to see one of the Blue Mountains’ most iconic sights - the three sisters towering over the Jamison Valley. The sandstone was eroded over time by weather to reveal what is now one of the most photographed sites of the region. If the weather is fine, take the bushwalking trail down to the valley floor via The Giant Stairway – an 800 step walk. Keep the adventure going with a 1.5hr walk to the base of Katoomba Falls and then enjoy the rest as you take the Katoomba Scenic Railway – the steepest passenger railway in the world – back to the top.
Jenolan Caves
Considered one of Australia’s most outstanding collection of caves, underground rivers and limestone crystal formations, Jenolan Caves is a sight to behold. Take a guided tour through 10 caves open to the public and stand in wonder of this natural creation.
Featherdale Wildlife Park
7-acres of wildlife park await budding animal lovers at Featherdale Wildlife Park where you can say G’day to a koala, hang with Skippy the bush kangaroo and learn about animal and environmental education. Tickets start at $17 for kids 3-15 years old or $88 for a family (2 kids, 2 adults).
