How to celebrate a special occasion in style in the Hunter Valley

Do you have an anniversary or birthday coming up, or just feel like spoiling yourself and your significant other? The Hunter Valley is the perfect place to do special occasions in style! You’ll certainly be in the good books after enjoying some of these extraordinary experiences that you will no doubt remember forever.

  1. Obviously, you’ll need to visit some of the best wineries the region has to offer – we’ve rounded up our favourites here.

  2. Drift away on a cloud of bliss with a couple’s spa treatment at Chateau Elan Day Spa. The treatment includes a couples body scrub, massage and a private geisha tub, topped off with a glass of sparkling.

  3. You can’t go past a balloon ride with your beloved, watching the sun rise over the vineyards. If your partner is a bit more of an adrenaline junkie, treat them to a tiger moth ride!

  4. The Hunter Valley Gardens is as romantic as it gets with over 8kms of walking trails and 10 feature gardens, each with a different theme. You’ll spot waterfalls, over 8000 roses in bloom, a wishing fountain and lush hedges, with something more beautiful at every turn. If you’re visiting around the middle of June – July, stay for the Snow Time Festival and treat your lover to a turn on the man-made ice-skating rink.

  5. Anyone can book a restaurant, but you’ll get extra brownie points for booking an amazing private dining room. Muse Restaurant is an award-winning restaurant that capitalises on the epic seasonal produce available in the Hunter Valley. The menu is constantly changing, but we recommend the degustation.
